Gras Hunting Ranch

The Gras Hunting Ranch is approximately 145 miles (232 km) south of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. The hunting territories cover over 37500 hectares (92800 acres) of arid bush land with savannah. The ranch is well-known for abundant wildlife and majestic views. Gras Hunting Ranch is considered to be one of the most beautiful game ranches in Namibia. The ranch is very well known in Germany.
Accommodations are in the spacious main house. The house was built during the period from 1906-1914, and is a luxurious and comfortable haven. All rooms have en suite bathrooms. In addition to the two lounges, the house features a formal dining room and bar, plus two large outdoor verandas and a beautiful lapa (BBQ area). Here, our guests can ponder the fruits of a successful day of hunting before indulging in a delicious traditional African meal.
We will cater for any special requests by prior arrangements. In addition to the main house, we have bush camping on the bank of the fish river (shown in picture below), which runs through the camp for approximately 17 miles (28 km). Hunters can sit at the fire on the riverbank and enjoy a braai (BBQ) while watching the beautiful southern hemisphere stars.

The Season
The hunting season opens in February and runs through November, during which time we have a limited number of safari bookings available. We take pride in the quality of our hunts. Rather than packing in as many safaris as possible, we concentrate on a few first-rate hunts, which allow our clients to get the high-quality trophies that they seek.
The Hunt
Guided by our experienced Professional Hunter with his team of trackers and a skilled skinner, you can choose to hunt on your own (1x1), alongside a friend or family member (2x1), or accompanied by a non-hunting guest. Each safari is specially adapted for the client and a variety of hunting methods are available. These include bow hunting, using 4x4 hunting vehicles with approaching and tracking game by foot, or waiting for game from a blind or from a high tower near a waterhole. To compliment your big game safari, there may be opportunity, depending on the time of year, to hunt upland birds such as doves, grouse, and African guinea fowl. I
Other Activities
In addition to the phenomenal hunting opportunities at Gras, the hunting party can fish in the magnificent Fish River, hike, birdwatch, or mountain bike.
